Ahhh...It's Only Thursday But It Feels Like...Sunday.

Ignore the title of this post...It's more like a Tuesday.

Work has been tough lately. Not because I'm all "crazy busy," but because lately, everything just fucking grates on my nerves! Let me bitch for a few paragraphs and please forgive me in advance for being confusing.

I absolutely believe that county operated Public Defender offices are the best method to represent the indigent (as opposed to a PD organization made up of all private panel attorneys) in California. I've seen private panels operate in a few counties and I've seen all those counties churn out the shittiest representation for their clients...ever. Yeah, I'm generalizing BUT I do it because I can and I do it because I have first hand experience with it!

I have to be very careful with what I say but I just want to tell all the Public Defender Investigator's out there that sleep on the job, complain about the clients, who fuck around on the job and generally act in the most unprofessional manner possible...GET THE FUCK OUT! You're giving us all a bad name! If you don't enjoy the job anymore, GET OUT! You're hurting our clients and you're hurting our profession! If you're doing this because you want a good retirement, please transfer to another county job and quit fucking with peoples lives or even better RETIRE EARLY! Ugh. It just makes my stomach hurt thinking about it.

Okay, I'm done now.

So! On to a subject that is the complete opposite of my rant (which was not directed to any co-worker or even anyone in the county where I'm employed). I've received emails from quite a few people lately who are applying for jobs as PDI's in California (some are applying at a county I happen to live and work in!) but I really don't get a chance to answer each and every email right away...sometimes it takes a few weeks (believe me, if I could blog about being a PDI for a living...I just might do it). So, just know that I'm getting back to you as soon as humanly possible and yes I will probably cheat and turn it into a post to kill two birds with one stone...er...well, at least stun the birds really, really bad.
