2 New Potential Databases

I forgot to mention two new databases of interest in my last post!

Unless you haven't picked up a newspaper in the last week, you should have heard about a new website that lets your comment on police officers nationwide called RateMyCop.Com. Of course the police unions are saying that the site puts the lives of law enforcement in danger and as always, its being totally blow out of proportion. The site has potential, but not all police agencies have a roster and the comments right now are mostly useless, ranging from This cop was totally friendly while giving me ticket! A real pro! to Dude was a dick.

Wonderful.

I do think it can come in handy if you post an email address on in the comments section of a cop you're watching and start collecting (and weeding through) potential complaints from the public.

There is a new state database of California state employees which I think is fantastic but is making state employees and their unions shit a brick! Check it out if you are curious. As far as I'm concerned, if you work for the public, the publishing of your name and salary is not out of line.

Sunshine laws...I love em!

ratemycop.com is going to cause a whirlwind of controversy, but I hope it puts officer's on notice that they need to enforce the law, not get creative and create new ones.
